Review:
In the second installment of L.J. Smith's Vampire Diaries series, The Struggle, the amount of emotions and character development is pretty amazing. This was such a good book, and such a fast read. Once i got into it i couldnt put it down. The second book is a thousand times better than the first. You can tell that L.J. Smith finally got into her groove and knew what she was doing in this book. The love stuggle is so amazing and believeable, you really connect with Elena and feel her stuggles. The only thing that drove me nuts in this book was Elena's lies and betrayals to Stefan. I cant stand when someone is dishonest, especially to their significant other. I had this same problem when reading "New Moon" in the Twilight saga. Betrayal is never ok, no matter what forces are acting against you, its not ok.

Besides that, it was really good. I love how much Stefan cares for her, but is so private about it. I love that he isnt showing it off to the world, and just keeping it for themselves. Even though i hate what Damon stands for i love his character. L.J. Smith did an amazing job on devoloping his character, it really is flawless. He is the perfect image of the deadly handsome bad boy. I hate what hes doing, but i love the character.

Overall:

This was an amzing book. I would high recommend this series to everyone who is into the ya paranormal genre. I know that this series is pretty old, and i did read it a long time ago, but never finished it and now its too long to remember what happened in the books i did read so bare with me if you have already read this series. If you didnt like the first book, i highly suggest reading the second book and then set your opinion on it, because it blow the first one out of the water.
