BBReview: "The Twin Dagger" By Zachary Henderson and Question of the Moment 24

Genre: Young Adult -Science Fiction
Publishing Date: April 28th, 2011
Page Count: 270
Source: Sent to me by the author
Format: E-Book

Description from Amazon:
Thomas and Shelley Barton speed through the treacherous hillside with the intentions and dreams of delivering a new addition to their family. Upon arrival at the hospital new dangers surface and a decade’s worth of secrets begin to be revealed. But that is just the tip of the iceberg. After the delivery of their first born son, a mysterious stranger appears with a dire message of the baby’s destiny.

Review:
With this being my first ever YA Science Fiction i was a tad nervous to try it, because it was sent to me for review, and to be honest my initial nerves were correct. This wasn't YA science fiction like time traveling, or something, but TRUE science fiction. If there was just a little more umph to it i would recommend taking off the "YA" and making it an adult, because some scenes were a little graphic or could become worse, easily. This science fiction deals with clones and mutations and part animal, part human experiments. It was just something that i was not used to at all. I could honestly see it become a movie on the sci fi channel, no joke. I honestly think that if it was a movie i would have liked it more, because reading science fiction just isn't for me.

If there was more science fiction themes than thriller themes then i would rate this lower. I really liked all the other things that happened, i loved the characters and i liked the entire story line, but because i've never been a big science fiction fan to begin with i found those parts to be confusing and uninteresting. I kept finding myself re-reading parts to try and understand better, because it was almost like i was talking to someone from a psychiatric hospital. It was non-sense to me. Now, i do not knock ANYONE who like's this kind of thing, because I'm sure there are people who don't understand my paranormal fascination. If you like science fiction then you will LOVE this book, to me it was just ok. The more you get into the story the more the science fiction aspects come out and thats the only parts i didn't like. The author is great, he had an amazing idea for this novel, i just don't like science fiction. Any part with Demetrius i was totally lost and just wanted him to go away. I really liked the YA parts of it, which was really thriller and mystery to me. I watch a lot of cop shows like Law & Order: SVU so i really liked the FBD, learning about the inner workings and learning about the people in the Descent.

Overall:
I really liked the mystery and thriller parts of the story. I think Henderson did an amazing job with the story line and how he broke up the scenes. I could honestly see it becoming a movie from the way it was written. The only parts i didn't like were the science fiction parts, but i've never been a big science fiction fan to begin with. I thought i would give it a try to see if i could broaden my range of books that i like, but unfortunately i didn't. I honestly think that if you are into sci fi that you will really like this novel, but it just wasn't my cup of tea.

Question of the Moment 24

Have you ever had conspiracy thoughts about the government? Do you think they hide really big secrets from us for "our own safety"?

I do think they do keep secrets from us, like really juicy secrets. I don't mean things like where the weapons are located, but things like area 51 and presidency deaths, and cover ups. I don't doubt it at all. If Obama came on the news tomorrow and said we knew about aliens all i long, i would totally believe him.

So what do you think about government secrets? Let me know in the comments below =]

Follow Friday #10

This Weeks Follow Friday Question:
Lets step away from books for a second and get personal. What T-Shirt slogan best describes you?

Well the one that really describes me says "I'll be nicer when you stop being stupid". I own it and love it. I can't find a picture of it online and can't find it to take a picture to show, but the other one that describes me that i CAN find says this..

^^I Love this band, and HAD to have this t-shirt, plus its accurate in describing me hahaha

Booking Through Thursday #8

Booking through Thursday is a weekly meme where we discuss a bookish question.

This Weeks Question:
What's the latest you've ever stayed up reading a book? Is staying up late reading a usual thing for you?

The latest i've ever stayed up is 9 am. I'm a night owl so I'm used to staying up really late anyways and its the only time where i don't have any distractions from reading. There isn't any good shows to watch late at night, everyone on Twitter is in bed, no one's posting any blogs that i feel i MUST read, and all my family is a sleep so i am able to put my undivided attention to reading. So, yes reading late is a VERY usual thing for me to do. Reading during the day is what is unusual for me =]

BBReview: "Pretty Little Liars" By Sara Shepard and Question of the Moment 23

*Question of the Moment 23 is at the bottom*

Genre: Young Adult -Thriller
Publishing Date: October 1st, 2006
Page Count: 286
Source: Borrowed from local library
Format: Hardcover

Description from Pretty Little Liars Official Website:
I'M STILL HERE, BITCHES. AND I KNOW EVERYTHING. --A
Alison, Aria, Emily, Hannah, and Spencer were best friends, until Alison disappeared. Three years later, the remaining girls, now juniors at Rosewood Day, are leading separate, but charmed lives.
After living in Iceland, Aria returns home sophisticated and worldly. Emily is champion swimmer, Hannah is the most popular girl in school, and Spencer's accomplishments make the average type-A valedictorian look like a slacker. But in Rosewood, appearances are deceiving, and when the girls start receiving mysterious texts signed by someone named A, the past threatens to ruin their perfect present. A claims to know all of their secrets-but who is A? How much does A really know? And what can four pretty little liars do to protect themselves from the truth? Find out in Pretty Little Liars.

Review:
After watching the first season and now getting into the second season and falling head over heels for the story line i decided to finally read the books. I figured that they would be better than the show, like most things are. Everything is pretty much the exact same though, so i did like it a lot. There were a few things that happened in the show, but in the book were way worse. The TV show is definitely made for families, unlike the book which has way worse consequences and actions. Even things where i already knew what was going to happen next kept me excited and surprised me along the way.

I started this book last night and finished it in 4 1/2 hours. The details are really good and the story telling is great. I really like how Shepard gave each girl their own chapter so it was easy to follow what was happening to who, just as if i was watching a show. The only thing was that instead of me picturing the girls Shepard described, which are WAY different than the girl on TV, i kept picturing the actresses from the show. I know this is very short, and kind of unspecific, but since i watched the show not a lot of things surprised me too much. I did hear that the show vears off the books path ALOT after the first season of the show so im expecting to be way more surprised in the books to come =D

Overall:
I thought this was a really easy and fast read. I got it done in only 4 1/2 hours and thats including breaks here and there. I really enjoyed this novel a lot even though i knew a lot about the plot from the show. Im very excited for this series and cannot wait to read/watch more. Recommended to all!!

Question of the Moment 23

Have you ever had a friend like Alison? A person who everyone loves and wants to be, but is really a very mean person and is only nice when she wants to be? Are you still friends with your Alison?

I actually did have an Alison. Her names was Cori. We were best friends all through Elementary school and possibly would still be friends if i didn't switch schools for middle and high school. She was the most popular girl and everyone liked her and wanted to be her friend. All the boys thought she was cute, and she was very nice to all of us (her friends) but she also had a dark side. She lied to us ALOT, i called 911 once, because she called and told me someone was breaking in her house. She was lying. Now she's a high school drop out with a baby that her parents adopted, because they didn't trust her to take care of him. Sad, glad i didn't fall down her path.

So who was your Alison? Let me know in the comments below =]

Review:
Seeing as how i already read a novel by Tamara i was expecting to like this novel, but i was a little worried, because all the reviews i've seen for it say "its SOOO much different from her other novel Death Whispers" and i really liked death whispers so i didn't know if it being different was a good or bad thing. Well all i have to say is WOW. WOW, what an amazing book. I don't think i've ever even read anything like this before. There are so many genre's mixed into this one amazing book. There are themes of ya, steam punk, dystopian, adventure, dynasty, and romance. I just loved it.

At first it was a tad confusing, because i didn't really understand the sphere's just yet, but by the end of the novel i was totally smitten by the story and completely understood everything. And personally I'm Team Matthew. I really don't know how to explain this novel but i found myself laughing, crying, and falling in love through out the story. Really REALLY good job Tamara =D

Overall:
I was totally smitten by this novel. There aren't enough good things to say about it. It is very different and unlike anything i have ever read before. I will definitely be reading the sequel and bugging Tamara about it till it comes out =D

Question of the Moment 22

Recently i have been hearing of a few books that deal with mermaids as their paranormal/mythological creature, and so i was wondering how you guys felt about this. Which bring me to this weeks QotM...

What do you think of mermaids? Do you think they are good paranormal/mythological creatures to write about or do you think YA authors are taking it too far? Have you ever read a book about mermaids and if so what book and did you like it?

My first reaction to mermaids was that i thought authors were taking it too far to create the next "big" paranormal creature. I thought it was silly to write about mermaids, because when i think of mermaids i think of Ariel, but as I'm becoming more and more aware of mermaid popularity I'm thinking maybe these authors know something i don't. I have read one book with a mermaid, but it didn't play the main feature. It was a nice warm up to the idea and I'm thinking I'm going to like mermaids =]

So what are you thoughts on these sea creatures? And don't be afraid to give YA mermaid related recommendations. Or any other YA recommendations for that matter =D Let me know in the comments below =]

Follow Friday #9

This Weeks Follow Friday Question:
Name 3 authors that you would love to sit down and spend an hour or a meal with just talking about either their books or get advice on writing from

The three authors that i would LOVE to sit down with and talk about their books would have to be Melissa De La Cruz, Becca Fitzpatrick, and Stephenie Meyer, in no particular order. I love all their books and would love to get the chance to even just meet them.

Booking Through Thursday #7

Booking through Thursday is a weekly meme where we discuss a bookish question.

This Weeks Question:
What's the first book that you ever read more than once? (I'm assuming there's at least one.) What book have you read the most times? And-how many?

The first book that i ever read more than once would probably be a children's story when i was young and that would probably be "The First Little Golden Books" collection. I don't know which one in particular i read the most, but i have tons of them and they are all worn down. As of recent times, since i can't remember too far back, it would be a tie between two books that i've read the most. Its between Catcher in the Rye and the Twilight Saga. I've read both twice, and yes i know thats not a lot, but i have so many books i want to read that i don't have time to re-read books. Maybe one day i'll run out of books to read, but i doubt that =]

BBReview: "Forgotten" By Cat Patrick

Genre: Young Adult -Contemporary
Publishing Date: June 7th, 2011
Page Count: 304
Source: Borrowed from local library
Format: Audiobook

Description From Amazon:
Each night at precisely 4:33 am, while sixteen-year-old London Lane is asleep, her memory of that day is erased. In the morning, all she can "remember" are events from her future. London is used to relying on reminder notes and a trusted friend to get through the day, but things get complicated when a new boy at school enters the picture. Luke Henry is not someone you'd easily forget, yet try as she might, London can't find him in her memories of things to come.
When London starts experiencing disturbing flashbacks, or flash-forwards, as the case may be, she realizes it's time to learn about the past she keeps forgetting-before it destroys her future.

Review:
Like i have stated many times in the past i have never listened to an audiobook. I thought that i wouldn't be able to keep my attention on it and that i would miss parts. I also thought that i wouldn't be taken away to that place in my head that the book is describing with out actually reading it. I have seen a few other bloggers on here that i follow either reading, reviewing, or IMMing about this book and the other day when i was at the library returning my brother's book he borrowed i saw that they had this book in audiobook form. I decided hey why not, this book never really drew my attention too much so if i end up not staying caught up and interested while listening then its no fault no harm. Well i listened to the entire thing (6 CD's long, 6 1/2 hours) all in one day. I have concluded that i... LOVE AUDIOBOOKS!!! I never thought that i would be able to get into them but i love being read to. Its so much faster to read, and i feel like im more involved in the story some how. The reader, Julia Whelan, is REALLY good. The only parts that i didn't like about her reading were the mens parts and especially Luke's parts. I also didn't really care for her "mom" voice for London's mom, but i loved her for London's voice. I think it was perfect.

Now onto the actual book review. Like i stated above, this book never really caught my eye. The cover is ok, but it doesn't really draw you in and the description is good, but it just didn't seem like something i would be into. I was sadly mistaken. I am so happy that i decided to just go ahead and try out an audiobook, because this story is amazing. This whole concept of only remembering the future and not the past is something very new, at least to me. I've never heard of a story like this. I think that Cat Patrick did an AMAZING job on everything and i was interested in what was going to happen next the entire time.

I don't think i have ever read a book that wasn't about paranormal's and loved it this much. This is serious one of my new favorites and im going to be looking up Cat Patrick to see if she has written any more books, because if they are as good as this then she is my new favorite author. Amazing, Amazing job. Amazing, Amazing story. Go listen!!

Overall:
I was skeptical to try this book. It didn't really catch my interest that much, but i wanted to try an audiobook and i've read good reviews about this so i decided to try it, and boy am i glad i did. This story is very amazing and very touching. It has nothing to do with paranormal's which is something very different for me, but was a very nice change. I truly loved this story and i hope to find more like it. I recommend this book to everyone!!

Question of the Moment 21

How do you remember things? Is it easy for you to remember things? Can you just memorize or do you need to write it down to remember? Or do you have some other trick that makes you remember things?

I am really bad at remembering things. The only way i can remember is if i write it down. If i don't, then ill lose the thought in a matter of seconds. I could tell myself "Write the review after watching this IMM vlog" and then as soon as im done watching that vlog i cannot remember what to do next to save my life. If i do remember it takes FOREVER for me to trace back my thought process. Its the same way with studying for things. I need to write everything down over and over again and make word associations. If i do that then im golden, pony boy, but if i dont then im screwed.

So how do you remember things? Let me know in the comments below =]

IMPORTANT UPDATE =]

Hello everyone,

This Saturday i am leaving to go up north to Gaylord, MI for a family cabin trip!! I am very excited about this as you can tell, but the only thing is that i don't know what is going to happen with the blog. Its time's like this when i think about recruiting my best friend to partner this blog with me. Anywhoo, since i have AT&T i got the tethering feature where i have my own hotspot through my phone, so I'm bringing all my electronic devices with me so that i can still blog throughout the week. The only thing is that i need a signal to get my internet and i don't know how the cell service is going to be. I know that gaylord isn't some place that is in the middle of no where, but if i am in the woods or a remote area then i just don't know how the reception is going to be. If you are from here then let me know your experience with cell signal.

Anyways the point of me telling you all this boring information is that if i get service then my blog will not be affected and i will still be doing my daily posts, but if i do not get a signal then i wont be able to talk to you guys/post until next friday night. Hopefully i get signal, so nothing will be affected so cross your fingers!!

Just wanted to let everyone know so you don't think i abandoned the blog =]

Hopefully ill talk to you all soon!! Happy Reading,

-Becky

Follow Friday #8

This Weeks Follow Friday Question:
What do i do when i are not reading?

When i am not reading i usually am blogging, having family time, Hanging out with my boyfriend, watching TV, or sleeping. Those are pretty much all the things i do. Pretty soon ill also be working in my spare time (i start today) OH and i also hang out with my sorority sisters. Blogging usually comes first, because i love it so much. I am so happy i decided to start a blog just for my books, I'm pretty sure they appreciate it as well =D My family is very close so usually every weekend we are doing something together. I LOVE my boyfriend, we have been together for four years, high school sweet hearts ♥. He lives 40 minutes from me so we usually only get to hang out a couple days a week if that. TV i watch anything, but i usually watch a lot of guilty pleasure shows (Secret Life of the American Teenager, Switched at Birth, Pretty Little Liars, Teen Wolf, Nine Lives of Chloe King, Keeping up with the Kardashians) I LOVE sleep so i spend about half of the day doing that, especially since I'm a night owl. The other two (work and sorority sisters) are pretty self-explanitory so ill just leave it at that since this is already a long answer, but now i've given you guys plenty of things to comment about =]

Thanks for stopping by, hope to be following you soon!!

Booking Through Thursday #6

Booking through Thursday is a weekly meme where we discuss a bookish question.

This Weeks Question:
There are so many crappy biographies … would you rather read a poorly-written biography of a fascinating life, OR an exquisitely well-written, wonderful read of one of a not-so-interesting life?

Well, even though i don't ever really find myself wanting to read biographies, if for some reason i wanted to then i think i would  have to go with the exquisitely well-written, wonderful read of one of a not-so-interesting life. Even though their life isn't fascinating or that interesting if its really well-written then I'm assuming that it would keep me interested and want to read on. I might even end it saying "hmm... that was a really good book".

BBReview: "Angel Burn" By L.A. Weatherly

Genre: Young Adult -Paranormal/Fantasy
Publishing Date: October 1st, 2010
Page Count: 512
Source: Sent to me by the author
Format: E-Book

Description from Amazon:
Willow knows she’s different from other girls, and not just because she loves tinkering with cars. Willow has a gift. She can look into the future and know people’s dreams and hopes, their sorrows and regrets, just by touching them. She has no idea where this power comes from. But the assassin, Alex, does. Gorgeous, mysterious Alex knows more about Willow than Willow herself does. He knows that her powers link to dark and dangerous forces, and that he's one of the few humans left who can fight them. When Alex finds himself falling in love with his sworn enemy, he discovers that nothing is as it seems, least of all good and evil. In the first book in an action-packed romantic trilogy, L. A. Weatherly sends readers on a thrill ride of a road trip — and depicts the human race at the brink of a future as catastrophic as it is deceptively beautiful.

Review:
This book is definitely much different than anything i've read. It makes you think about things differently, because of the new theory it creates about what angels really are. I know i've heard of people saying that they saw an angel and the theory that this book presents makes you hope you dont see an angel. I have both good and bad things to say about this novel. The bad things are very minor though, so the good things outshine them. The good parts about Angel Burn is that like i said before it is very different. I really liked that it was more of an action novel almost. It was kind of intense and you could feel the panic that the characters had. I also liked that the romance slowly bubbled over time, it wasn't immediate like in most books. Yes the attraction was immediate, because of physical attractions, but there wasn't love at first site. I didn't like that they said I love you as soon as the feelings finally got out in the open, but i mean when you realize you like someone a LOT you get that feeling of love, but you just dont say it right away, so i kind of understoof and just let it pass.

The story is told, in total, by four different characters. This was both good and bad. I liked that it showed everyone's point of view during it, but i didn't like that it told Raziel's point of view. I didn't care about his point of view, because he's the bad guy. The only benefit from his point of view is that you got more information about angels. The only other bad things were that the beginning, at least for me, was very slow. It took me two days just to read till chapter 4, i almost put it down. The other thing is the ending. I feel like this series could have ended in book one, and i would have been ok with that. Weatherly prepares you for this to be a one book only novel, but then at the last second makes it carry on to a book two to find out what is going to happen next, but its not a cliff hanger.

Overall:
I liked Angel Burn, i didn't love it. The beginning was very slow, but as i read on it grew on me and i ended up speeding through it. Even though i liked this book and rate it at a four it wasn't exciting enough to make me want to read the next book in this series. Im sure maybe one day ill want to read it, but right now i really dont have the drive. I liked this one, but not enough to continue on.

Question of the Moment 20

Have you ever read a book that made you think about something in an entirely different way? If so, what book and what about it made you change the way you think? If not then see what others say and get some new book suggestions to add to your TBR list =D

The book im reading right now, Angel Burn by L.A. Weatherly, has. It gives a new perspective on what is really happening when angels are seen by humans. I dont want to give anything away other than that, but it is really interesting and something that i never thought of. Now, i dont wanna meet an angel as a human =]. I was telling my boyfriend about this book and he told me that there are people who really believe this is what it means when an angel visits you and it just blew my mind. Very interesting. Now i have a new perspective on life.

BBReview: "Switched" By Amanda Hocking and Question of the Moment 19

*Question of the Moment 19 is at the bottom*

Genre: Young Adult -Paranormal/Fantasy
Publishing Date: July 12th, 2010
Page Count: 318
Source: Bought from Amazon
Format: E-Book

Description from Amazon:
Switched - the first book in the Trylle Trilogy...
When Wendy Everly was six years old, her mother was convinced she was a monster and tried to kill her. It isn't until eleven years later that Wendy discovers her mother might have been right.
With the help of Finn Holmes, Wendy finds herself in a world she never knew existed - a world both beautiful and frightening, and Wendy's not sure she wants to be a part of it.

Review:
I know that the last book i read was also by Amanda Hocking and i stated that i didn't like it as much as i could have and that it has the same rating as this one, but i definitely liked this one better than "My Blood Approves". When i first started it and she was describing how her Mother tried to kill her i thought, "Oh no, this one sounds like Shiver, not another copy" But it totally turned around after that. This was not at all a copy. This was a total original book, and was about a paranormal i've never ever read about, Trylle.

This book was definitely much more interesting, and i really loved the ending. Im so happy with the choices Wendy made even though it might affect some people in a different town, but i think it was what was best for her. I felt so bad for Matt the entire time, and i love Finn. I also really loved Rhys character and thought of him as a step brother to Wendy. I think Amanda Hocking did a much, much better job with this book and it definitely kept me interested. The ending has a HUGE cliff hanger and i just hope everything's ok

Overall:
I feel this is much better than My Blood Approves and is very, very original. I really loved the characters in it and i am very happy with what happens in the end. It was very interesting, especially since i have never read a book about this type of paranormal and i would recommend it to anyone who is looking for a different type of YA paranormal.

Question of the Moment 19

If you found out that you were switched at birth, and you were the only person in your family who knew it, would you tell them or keep it a secret?

I would tell them. I know that things might change, but i would never be able to hide something like that, especially if its like what happened to Wendy in "Switched". I imagine it would be like when you find out you're adopted. You would want to know about your real parents, but you will always have a closer bond to the parents who raised you, and i think it would  be the same for them. They would want to know their real child, but would always have a place for you in their hearts. Besides, that is a lot to deal with, especially if you're the only one who knows or if both you, their real kid and your real parents know, but not the ones who raised you? Yea, i would have to tell them.

So would you tell them the truth? Or not say anything to prevent change? Let me know in the comments below =]

Follow Friday #7

This Weeks Follow Friday Question:
Let's step away from besties...What is the worst book that you've ever read and actually finished?

This is hard, i havent read too many bad books since i usually pick them out really well. I would say it would have to be "Lord of the Flies" By William Golding. Im sorry but that book is just boring and pretty f-ed up how these kids act. The whole time reading it i just wanted to punch them in the face. Now i didn't pick out this book, i was forced by the man (high school =] ) , but the worst that i picked out for myself would be "Tantalize" by Cynthia Leitich Smith. It was just a let down. I was so excited when i got to buy it, because ir sounded really good, but after i read it i was just disappointed. I feel like she just didn't know how to end it so she just wrote The End. She just kept building it up to be good and then it just fell through. I respect her as an author and person, but that book was just no good.

Booking Through Thursday #5

Booking through Thursday is a weekly meme where we discuss a bookish question.

This Weeks Question:
Since my dog is turning 10 today … what animal-related books have you read? Which do you love? Do you have a favorite literary dog? (Snoopy, anyone?)

Well, i have read Shiver and Linger by Maggie Stiefvater and those are about wolves, and then as a kid i've read Richard Scary's books and Bernstein Bears, and Dr. Seuss and things like that. I would say that my favorite, though, would be Shiver by Maggie Stiefvater, because i remeber it well since it wasnt too long ago i read it and i really loved it.

I HAVE QUESTIONS I NEED ANSWERS!!

That title is what my brain has been screaming for awhile now, especially when i talked to my mom about what my questions are concerning and she said its totally do-able. So what are these questions you ask? I'll tell you =]

After reading/watching many of you share your loot from book conventions like BEA and ALA i have been very jealous haha. And so i was telling my mom about all the amazing swag and books that you guys get, and she told me that if i just found out all the information she would help me save and then i could go to one, never even thought it was possible for me, so now i need help, thus where my questions come from and here they are...

Do you have to be someone special to go to one?
Are they held more than once a year?
Are they always in the same place?
Are there more than just those two that i know about?
Which ones are the best ones to go?
Where can i get more information on these?
How much do they usually cost?
What does your payment cover?
Is there some kind of website that shows all (or majority) of the book conventions going on?
Where do i buy a pass?
Is there anything else i need to know, before pouring my heart into this dream?

If you can help me out at all with any of these questions then let me know =] Or you can email me at bookbitereviews(at)gmail(dot)com

If anyone else is interested in any of these things as well comment with your email and i can forward you any information i find out, maybe we can be convention buddies =D

Thank you guys for your future help,
Becky

BBReview: "My Blood Approves" By Amanda Hocking and Question of the Moment 18

Genre: Young Adult -Paranormal/Fantasy
Publishing Date: March 17th, 2010
Page Count: 261
Source: Bought from Amazon
Format: E-Book

Description from Amazon:

Then she meets his brother, Peter. His eyes pierce through her, and she can barely breathe when he's around. Even though he can't stand the sight of her, she's drawn to him. But falling for two very different guys isn't even the worst of her problems. Jack and Peter are vampires, and Alice finds herself caught between love and her own blood...

Review:
I must warn you that if you didn't like 'Twilight' By Stephanie Meyer, then you probably won't like this novel either. I loved 'Twilight' so i enjoyed this book. The reason i mention 'Twilight' is because a lot of what happened in the book happened in 'Twilight' as well. It was very odd, to be honest. A lot of the time i kept saying " hmm...that happened in Twilight, and that too, and Edward said that". Once you get to the second half it becomes it own novel. It is really good and there are teams you could be on, Team Peter or Team Jack. Im Team Jack.

It was a good novel and i enjoyed reading it and it definitely kept me reading even with the resemblences to one of my favorite novels. I never wanted to stop reading and once it turns into its own story it really hooked me. I would have finished it much sooner, but i had to sleep before i passed out. I really don't know what else to say about it, because i feel like i've already read this book with so many similarities to the other novel, but i did enjoy it. I just wish it didn't seem like such a copy to me.

Overall:
I enjoyed this novel, i wanted to keep reading and find out what happens between the two main characters, but i found a lot of similarities between it and Twilight that i dont have anything original or specific to say about this novel. If you liked Twilight then you'll like this novel, if not then you'll probably not like this. I hope that the rest of series becomes more original, and its own, and less like Twilight.

Question of the Moment 18

If your heart told you that you loved one guy, but your blood told you that another guy was for you and your life might depend on being with this guy, then who would you choose? You're heart, or your blood?

I would choose my heart. Even if i did feel attracted to my bloods guy and my life depended on it, my heart is with someone else. Its not fair to anyone if your head is in it, but not your heart. Besides if your heart is in it then that means you have fallen for that guy for the right reason's. You love his personality and his company. Heart trumps blood, hands down.

So what do you trust? Your heart or your blood? Let me know in the comments below =]

BBReview: "Fall For Anything" By Courtney Summers and Question of the Moment 17

*Question of the Moment 17 is at the bottom*

Page Count: 230
Source: Bought from Amazon
Format: E-Book

Description from Amazon:
From the author of Cracked Up to Be and Some Girls Are comes a gripping story about one girl’s search for clues into the mysterious death of her father.

Why when he seemed to find inspiration in everything he saw? And, most important, why when he had a daughter who loved him more than anyone else in the world? When she meets Culler Evans, a former student of her father’s and a photographer himself, an instant and dangerous attraction begins. Culler seems to know more about her father than she does and could possibly hold the key to the mystery surrounding his death. But Eddie’s vulnerability has weakened her and Culler Evans is getting too close. Her need for the truth keeps her hanging on...but are some questions better left unanswered?

Review:
I really dont know what to say about this novel. It wasn't great, but it wasn't terrible, so this makes it one of the hardest reviews to write. At the end i was just at loss over it, because i didn't know what to think about it. Yes, it is a pretty depressing book, because Eddie's Dad has committed suicide and she is trying to deal with coping and also trying to figure out why he would do it in the first place, and i was totally fine with that. It kept me reading the whole time and shed a few tears over some of the things and i could feel her pain, and her heartbreak, and her sadness with each event that goes on with the book, but the ending just blew it for me.

I feel like in the end she is exactly where she was in the beginning. Yes, there is change, but the initial plot is the same and her life hasn't had any new growth. I dont know what could be different or what Summers could have changed, but if the ending was different i would have had better feelings towards it, and it would at least have gotten 4 stars. I just dont know what to say about it. I feel like maybe the depression of Eddie's got to Summers and she just gave up in the end, because she had all these things going for her and there is a small change with her mom, but then in the end its just back to sucks-ville for Eddie's life. I just dont know.

Overall:
I really wanted to like this book and i was really liking it till it got to the end. It just didn't do it for me, unfortunately. It definitely keeps you reading and you want to know what is going to happen in the end, but for me the ending just wasnt good. I have read other reviews from people who loved it, so i vote you give it a try and decide for yourself if this works for you =]

Question of the Moment 17

Have you ever had to deal with a suicide to someone who was close to? How did you cope? If you havent, what do you think you would do?

I did really wanna like this novel, because i have lost one of my best friends to suicide so i knew exactly where Eddie was coming from when all she obsessed over was "WHY?" When i lost my best friend, Kaleigh, i didn't know what to do. All the circumstances about it were so messed up. None of us even knew that she was depressed and was on anti-depression meds, she kept it all from us. She came to the first day of school for Sophomore year and was the happiest ive ever seen her. She ended up hanging herself that weekend, she was rushed to the hospital and lived for a day, before dying.  That next monday in class was when i was told by my principle. That was one of the worst days of my life. All i could do was cry for weeks, months. I kept asking myself why. Why wouldn't she come to us when she was in trouble, how come none of us knew she was depressed? Why didn't she think about all of her friends who would miss her SO much? I still wonder, but i've come to terms with it, i still cry everytime i think about her though. I coped by talking about her, a lot, and being around my friends to talk about the memories we had. I called her cell phone a lot and left messages for her and would post on her myspace all the time. I just coped by getting my feelings out and making sure i didn't bottle them, which it seems is was Eddie was doing in this novel, bottling it up.

Im sorry if this is too personal for you guys, but i feel like you guys who read these and respond are really good people and people i can open up with and i hope that you guys feel the same way when thinking about how to answer this one. I promise ill try not to make too many of these depressing ones =], but i didn't know what else to ask in regards to a book that is about suicide.

So how did you cope? Or how would you cope? Let me know in the comments below =]

BBReview: "The Childe" By C.A. Kunz

Genre: Young Adult -Paranormal
Publishing Date: February 18th, 2011
Page Count: 412
Source: Bought from Amazon
Format: E-Book

Description from Amazon:
Cat Colvin is pretty much your typical run-of-the-mill teenager growing up in the small port town of Astoria. Sure, she is taller than average, has a mane of fiery red hair that is impossible to tame, is left handed, and has one eye that is sky blue and one that is amber, but that is where the differences end . . . unless you include the “minor” detail of her slow metamorphosis into the Childe.

We all know how difficult high school can be, and for Cat Colvin it is no different. Except for the fact she has the daunting task of trying to hide her budding Childe traits as they begin to reveal themselves at the most inopportune times.

This first book in this coming of age fantasy series follows Cat's life through the twists and turns toward finding out what and who she really is. Come and take the plunge with Cat into a world filled with biting humor, darkness, and yes, a few life lessons as well.

Review:
I know you guys are probably thinking that something is wrong with me, because it seems that every book i've reviewed has been getting 5 stars, but trust me they deserve it and this is another one who greatly deserves it!! I was completely blow away with this book. It keeps you anticipating for something to happen and when it does you're are just so full of excitement, because it FINALLY happened. The characters are amazing and each person has their own identity. Im used to reading books that has two main characters and then a couple sub characters here and there, but this novel has tons of characters who appear a lot, which means you really get to know everyone.

I also really loved their writing style. It showed everyone's thoughts. Everyone got a little bit of narration it seemed, and each had their own thoughts that the authors shared with us. Another thing that was really cute was that each chapter had a picture that went along with the chapter title and i just ate it up, i love having small illistrations here and there, because it reminds me of being kid and marveling at the pictures. Cat's story is amazing and i think that both Carol and Adam did an amazing job with it. I love Ryan so much, and the whole time i was rooting for him to make a move. The only thing i hate was how as soon as you finally get to the really good stuff when all the truth's come out, it ends. I wish book two was out so i could have read it right after this. I am so in love with this series, i cannot wait to find out when book two comes out. I dont know how to express how much i loved this any more than i already have. I honestly couldn't find anything wrong with it, it had me eating out of its hand the entire time.  Everyone needs to go pick this up!!

Overall:
This is just another AMAZING series that i need to add to the growing list of series i need to keep reading. I was hooked from the beginning and found myself connecting to Cat the entire time. This novel's writing style is different than anything ive read before and they give you enough information to keep you at bay, but still have TONS left to tell you in the books to come. I will be waiting with TONS of anticipation for the next one to come out and will treat it like a red-carpet premiere.

Question of the Moment 16

If there was a boy that you found yourself attracted to and you couldn't explain the way you were feeling and you could feel that he liked you too, but always just acted weird and neither of you told eachother your feelings for each other what would you do?

After a certain point i would just have to ask him if he liked me. I wouldn't be able to keep doing the "look at him until he notices and look away" move for too long. I would make jokes about him being in love with me to see if he would admit and then just keep leaving hints until he came out with it, but if he still didn't after so long then i would just straight up ask him. I love all that flirting and getting love butterflies, but i would have to know after a while if it was all just act, or something real. I cant be strung along, i fall to easily =/

So what would you do about the boy you're love sick over? Let me know in the comments below =]

BBReview: "My Soul to Take" By Rachel Vincent and Question of the Moment 15

*Question of the Moment 15 is at the bottom*

Genre: Young Adult -Paranormal/Fantasy
Publishing Date: August 1st, 2009
Page Count: 279
Source: Bought from Amazon
Format: E-Book

Description from Amazon:
She doesn't see dead people, but...
She senses when someone near her is about to die. And when that happens, a force beyond her control compels her to scream bloody murder. Literally.
Kaylee just wants to enjoy having caught the attention of the hottest guy in school. But a normal date is hard to come by when Nash seems to know more about her need to scream than she does. And when classmates start dropping dead for no apparent reason, only Kaylee knows who'll be next...

Review:
Rachel Vincent did not disappoint with the first novel in her Soul Screamers series. After reading the prequel "My Soul to Lose" i was so anxious to read this book, especially when i read the sneak peak that was included in it for this novel. The thing i love about this series and Rachel Vincents writing is the humor. I found myself constantly chuckling to some thing sarcastic that Kaylee would actually being saying out loud or in her head. I love that she isn't like most female characters who depends on the guy, she is a realistic girl with real things to say. Now she does depend on Nash for things, but its more for comfort not for her safety. I honestly think i like Kaylee so much, because i relate to her. I always make a bad situation funny and i always have something sarcastic to say which usually gets me in trouble.

Aside from getting humor out of the book, i feel that Rachel Vincent made a very smooth novel. There wasn't a point where it got slow or that you weren't interested in what was going to happen next, it was very cohesive. Im used to being able to find a stop to take a break or go to sleep, but there arent any. You just have to force yourself to stop reading. I also really like how there were a lot of references to the prequel, im sure if you didnt read it you would still understand, but it was nice reading something that was mentioned in the prequel in more detail and being able to say "oh yea i remember that". The characters, i feel, were flawless. I love that she can tell her best friend exactly whats going on and that her friend doesnt get embarressed and leave her to scream by herself, but actually helps her and doesn't ask questions. I love love LOVE Nash, i feel like he is perfect for her and i especially love Tom. I think he might be my favorite character besides Kaylee. The only character i hate is Sophie, i thought maybe with what happens in this novel that Sophie would be nicer to Kaylee and their relationship would change, but no, i just despise her more. The only thing that doesnt make me love the prequel more is that i felt a lot more emotions in prequel, like i actually cried, but My Soul to Take is still beautifully written and i can't wait to read the rest.

Overall:
This novel did not disappoint, i loved it just like i thought i would. I love how much humor and sarcasm Kaylee has and i was glad that it wasn't just emotional and depressing like a lot of YA paranormals are, Kaylee's humor kept it light. I really loved all the characters and i feel Rachel Vincent did a flawless job shaping them, and she did an amazing job making the entire story very cohesive and smooth.

Question of the Moment 15

If you had some sort of paranormal ability would you keep it from your best friend, only tell them bits and pieces of it or would you just tell them everything?

I would first start off slow at first, because i wouldnt want to lay everything on the line if they would just end up thinking im crazy. So i would just ease her into what my paranormal ability is and then if she didnt think i was crazy, which im pretty sure she wouldn't, i would tell her everything. Even the parts of it that might scare her i would still tell her, because i would need to have someone to talk about it with. The only things i wouldn't tell her is if another person like me told me that humans can't know about x, y, and z so i would just leave those parts out. But i don't know how people can have paranormal abilities and keep it a secret, like when i watch paranormal kids and the kids always complain about how they're so alone and they cant tell their best friend, because they wont understand and will make fun of them. Obviously they aren't too good of a friend if you think they would laugh and abandon you, but i would have to tell him even if i thought they would think im nuts.

So what would you do? Could you keep it all a secret, only tell them small things, or lay it all out there? Let me know in the comments below =]
