Genre: Young Adult -Paranormal/Fantasy
Publishing Date: November 2012
Page Count: 204
Source: Sent to me by Heather (the tour leader) for review
Format: E-Book

Description from the author:
Janie Grey is dedicated to hunting the undead, an inherited duty passed down from her Cherokee ancestors and generations of powerful Seekers before her. Then, there's Kai. He's like no one she's ever met - cocky, fast, skillful, infuriating and gorgeous. Not only has he become a valuable asset in her fight against the growing population of the vampire/demon hybrid known as Daychildren...

She's unwittingly fallen for him.

Just when Janie thinks she's learned everything there is to know about Kai's mysterious past, there's a newcomer to Baltimore. Someone who will do anything to make sure Janie loses Kai forever.

Review:
I will always and forever be a fan of the seeker series. It always has you guessing and always has your heart racing. There are so many twists and turns to this series. Just when you think one thing is going to happen it tricks you and something else happens completely. Taryn has such a unique writing style that just sucks you into the story when you read it. There were times when I said, just one more chapter and I'll go to bed...five chapters later I am finally going to bed.

Dark Return was an excellent addition to the series. Usually a series second book is no where near as good as the first, but Dark Return did not disappoint at all. It only added to the series greatness. Janie and Kai's characters were just as awesome as they were in the first book. I don't really agree with Kai keeping secrets, even if it was just to protect Janie. I agreed with Janie the entire time about Kai being extremely difficult. I wanted to just jump into the book and slap some sense into that guy. Girls don't like to be protected with secrets.

I do find the Matt relationship a little weird. I understand, but it's still weird. As most of my followers know I am not a fan of love triangles. I am fine if  a girl is inbetween guys, or can't choose between one, but I can't stand when a girl is with a guy and then pines over another one. I think Taryn did a really good job with this almost love triangle. She did it so well it doesn't really bother me at all. I mean Matt basically just has a crush on Janie, but it isn't reciprocated. I would tell Matt to just get over it, but he can't so thats why I am ok with it.

As far as story line wise, it was fantastic. The entire time my heart was beating quickly and my eyes were going a thousand miles a minute to try and read as fast as I could so I could know what happens. Every time you thought you knew what was going to happen it changed at the last second. I absolutely loved the ride Dark Return took you on. It could have not gotten any better. The ending was awesome and really makes you want to get your hands on book three already. I cannot wait to continue this series! Write faster Taryn!

Overall:
I really, really loved Dark Return. This series cannot get any better. It has so many twist and turns that really make you want to keep reading. You will not be able to read only one chapter at a time. You will get hooked from page one. The characters are excellently executed and do not differ from how they acted in book one. Taryn did an amazing job and I could not have asked for more.

Rating: ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ 5/5

The one thing Maya Simmons wants is the last thing she should have. Succubi life isn't for everyone, geared toward those who are lonely and know how to harbor secrets. Twenty-year-old Maya, however, is the perfect candidate. She lives freely, parties whenever she wants, and enjoys feeding her succubus demons with plenty of sex.
It's an easy life for Maya...until she meets Tristan. Every time she sees him, the demon inside her goes crazy. But if she gives into her inner succubus and ravishes him, he probably won't survive.
Her chosen way of life is thrown into chaos when a few of her latest victims turn up dead. Knowing she left them with enough energy to recover, she realizes that a rogue succubus is out to get her. As she investigates, she discovers that she's in more danger then she thought, and the one thing she never wanted to do may be the only thing that can save her life.
Her life, and Tristan's.

Author Bio:
On a cloudy day, I decided to write my first novel (I didn't really have anything else to do). The thing here is that I'm known to have a weird imagination, and I guess the first time I got told that, was the day I actually realized that I did. Which led me to putting my weird imagination on paper, turning it into a novel, and loving the fact that I actually did it. And had fun with it.

I was born and raised in New Zealand (Yes, it's that little country beside Australia. No it's not a part of Australia). I dream big, and have family and friends that support me with each step I take. I spend a majority of my time reading, writing, watching Sci-Fi movies (I'm a nerd and proud!), listening to music, and going on an adventure with my characters (that's my favorite one). I am also a part-time reviewer on Step Into Fiction (That site totally rocks by the way).

I believe that if you really want it, you can have it. I'm not saying it's going to be easy because it probably won't be. As for me, I'm excited to go on this journey and introduce everyone to the imagination that is mine, and weird. Her debut novel, Counterpart, will be published 2/13/2013
