{Guest Post} "If Only I Could...Like An Animal" By Victoria Foyt

If Only I Could…Like An Animal!

By Victoria Foyt

Sometimes I feel too vulnerable to the elements, like when it drops below 70 degrees. Seriously. I grew up in Florida, and except for a short stint in NYC, I have lived my adult life in Southern California. But if my skin had fur, say something beautiful like the coat of a jaguar, Panthera onca, I could brave chilly extremes.

Sometimes I want to flop like a harbor seal, Phoca vitulina, onto the beach and absorb the sun’s golden warmth on a summer day. But with the risk of skin cancer—I have already had three scary moles cut out—I cannot afford such exposure and must wear a hat even on a fall outing.

Sometime when my boyfriend points to something far away and says, “Over there, can’t you see it?” and I have to shake my head and say “no,” I really wish I had the keen sight of a harpy eagle, Harpia harpyja, that can spot prey from 100 feet in the air. It also has really great nails, or talons, which are amazing survival weapons.

Sometimes when I pull a muscle in my neck picking up a suitcase, like I did this weekend when I picked up a relative at the airport, I really wish my core muscles were stronger. How cool it would be to impress people at the gym if I had the kind of abs with which the green anaconda, Eunectes murinus, squeezes its prey to death.

But I’m just a homo sapien, a female with overdeveloped mental facilities and flabby muscles. I cannot fly or leap or bite lethally. I cannot even run very far, though I am a pretty good swimmer. I once had my lifesaving certificate and could swim the length of an Olympic-size pool underwater with a single breath, but that was a long time ago.

Come the apocalypse, there won’t be any clean swimming pools around anyway. We will probably also lack electricity, which means no cell phones or computers or refrigerators or any modern convenience. Fuel lines may be disrupted, meaning you must rely on your legs for locomotion. And trucks will not be able to transport food from agricultural centers to your local grocery store. Yikes!

Basically, someone like me who spends the majority of her waking hours behind a computer, will only last about as long as the stores in her pantry. For a number of years, I have pondered apocalyptic scenarios. I even started a vegetable garden and planted some fruit trees. As if those small efforts could stave off disaster for my family and I. But even if we could last an extra week or two by foraging in our backyard, what happens then?

Am I overly pessimistic or simply able to face the future with cold-eyed realism? Surely, the proliferation of apocalyptic books suggests that I am not the only writer who dwells on these dire possibilities.
In my young adult, adventure romance series, Save The Pearls, the protagonist’s father has developed a biological process that will allow man to adapt with certain animal traits. In Adapting Eden, part two of the series, when Eden Newman falls in love with a hybrid man, she must decide whether to trade her human identity for the animal traits that will enable her to be the Jaguar-Man’s mate and survive in a post-apocalyptic environment.

If you were in Eden’s shoes, which you very well may be one day, what animal traits would you wish for?

---

Thank you so much, Victoria, for that seriously entertaining and thought provoking guest post!! To answer your question on what animal traits I would wish for I think I would have to choose the traits of a crocodile, Crocodylinae, because a crocodile is not only amazing and can kill you in one bite, but it is said that they can go 2 years without eating!! Perfect animal trait in case of the apocalypse.

BEA Tips/Books I'm Looking Forward to/BEA Book Blogger Picnic

This is my second year going to BEA and I am so excited! It is seriously the best time. If you are thinking about going in the future, stop thinking, and JUST GO! It is completely worth every penny you have to spend on travel costs. I thought that since I am now a BEA veteran (LMAO) that I would share some tips for those of you who will be joining me there this week. I will also share my top ten books I am looking forward to grabbing.

~TIPS~
1. Dress Comfortably - I didn't know what the dress code was going to be like when I went for the first time last year so I packed mostly business casual outfits. I figured it was going to be a little bit of a dressy event since your meeting authors and publishers, but when I got there I saw that everyone was dressed very casual and for good reason. You are going to be on your feet all day running around or sitting in long lines so you might as well skip the dress pants or skirts and wear jeans and a t-shirt. If you want to dress to impress wear a nice blouse.

2. Bring Tennis Shoes - Again, since I didn't know the dress code I wore dressy flats for the first two days and my feet were KILLING me. Make sure to wear comfortable shoes, because you will be on your feet literally the whole time you're in New York.

3. Get there early - Make sure to get to everything early. You will thank yourself in the long run if you make sure to get to all the signings a half hour early. I did this last year and was front of the line almost every time. Also make sure to get to the Javits Center as soon as you can, because people line up at the door as soon as they can and you wanna make sure you don't miss out on some awesome arc drops when the doors open.

4. Make friends - The best thing to do is to turn around and introduce yourself to the people standing in line with you. They are all book lovers and are your kind of people. Conversation will come easy since you obviously have similar book interests since you're in the same line. Not only will you make fast friends, but you will be introduced to new blogs to check out. Also you can save each others spots in really long lines so the other can go look for more ARC's to grab for the both of you.

5. Bring Snacks - The lines are long and you probably have your entire day planned to go from signing to signing. If you can't sneak in a real lunch make sure to bring snacks to keep your energy up until you can get some real food. Your stomach will thank you.

6. Have Business Cards - Literally everyone there will have them as well and will want to trade cards with you. Make sure to not only include your blog URL, but also your Twitter, Pinterest, Facebook etc., so that everyone can easily follow you. It's also really cool to trade business cards to get inspiration for your own business cards.

7. USE those Business Cards - Ok, you have the business cards, but now what? PASS THEM OUT! Make sure to get your blog's name out there. I didn't only trade business cards with other bloggers and attendee's, but I also made sure to give them to the authors I was getting books signed from and to publishers that I was meeting. You want to make as many connections as possible to not only help your blog, but possibly help you out in the future.

8. Be Polite and Kind - There are so many people attending that you never know who is around you. Make sure to always be on your best behavior in case an author or publisher is around watching. You don't want to make a fool of yourself. Also if you are kind, others will be kind back and everyone likes good karma.

9. Make time to look around - There are books being constantly handed out. Make sure to leave some room to explore the floor between signings to grab some really awesome ARC's.

10. Have Fun - Make sure to enjoy your time there. If you are a true book lover this is like book heaven and should be treated as such. If you don't get a book you wanted, it's ok you can buy it, get it off NetGalley, or win it in a giveaway. Just remember to enjoy the books and connections you make to make the most of your trip.

Just one tiny secret has the potential to ruin everything.

Being the daughter of the sheriff in a small town like Holden Ridge means that eighteen-year-old Danielle “Dani” Marks’ life is under constant surveillance. She’s made a habit of staying under the radar by being a floater among social circles at school, which has kept her out of trouble—until now.

After a missing persons case stirs up the entire town, Dani finds herself caught right in the middle of the scandal. When she’s labeled a possible suspect, things quickly go from bad to worse. The sudden return of her old flame, Parker Reed, manages to make her whole situation even more complicated.

When an elusive unknown person begins to blackmail Dani by threatening to reveal her deepest secrets, Dani refuses to play along. That is, until the person’s actions take a violent turn. Holden Ridge begins to lose its sense of quaint town security, and Dani is caught in a deadly game of cat and mouse.

Who can she trust when anyone around her could be a suspect?

One thing’s for certain though: Never underestimate the power of one tiny secret.

Review:
Jiminey Crickets was this an amazing book! One Tiny Secret is addictive, fast paced, un-put-downable, and scary. Wow, did I love this book! I seriously could not get enough of it and had to keep reading till the end, because I NEEDED to know who 'Unknown' was! Seriously great, go you, Adam!

Adam Kunz is also the 'A' in C.A. Kunz, a mother-son author duo responsible for the amazing Childe Series. This is Adam's first solo novel being published and I have got to say that he did a great job. I just hope that the amazing success he is about to gain from One Tiny Secret doesn't disrupt the Childe Series, because I will have to start writing angry letters, Adam. lol!

Now, back to the amazingness that is One Tiny Secret. I absolutely love it when I can't figure out an ending. The entire time this book had me second guessing myself on who the killer could be. In chapter 33 I seriously thought that I figured out who it was. I was POSITIVE I knew who it was, but Adam got me good and I didn't see the real ending coming at all. It seriously blind sided me and I was very happy with the ending. I have seriously never read such a fast paced novel where my brain is just constantly working to try and figure out the ending. Very well done.

The characters were all developed flawlessly. I seriously loved Dani's character, especially her name. I love girls with boy names, it's just adorable. Dani was completely likable and relateable. I loved that she was full of sass and was stubborn it really made her feel genuine. There are so many side characters in this book that I can't possibly go through and talk about each one, but just know that they all were very real, genuine, characters and I really felt like they were real people and that the story was real life, because it was very hard to try and pick out a murderer.

As far as plot and story line, it was done very well. Adam created a lot of tension throughout the entire story to really make the plot thicken and thicken as you read on. Every page just sucks the reader in more and more until you have to just sit there being held hostage till the very end. And it was seriously scary. I was constantly looking over my shoulder, walking around my house looking for hidden killers, and jumping at every small noise. I seriously almost had a heart attack when my dog started barking, because my neighbor came home! I honestly thought someone was in the house! Really great plot development, great character development, great everything. This book was fantastic and I will continue to read more and more from Adam Kunz.

Overall:
Absolutely, 1000% in love with One Tiny Secret! I honestly didn't think a book could be this great. It had me hooked the entire time, reading page after page and constantly looking over my shoulder. I couldn't guess the ending to save my life, and that is the number one thing I loved about it. I love when I can't guess an ending, because it makes me that much more eager to keep reading and find out the truth. There were many times when I thought I had it figured out, but I kept finding out I was wrong and second guessing myself. Overall fantastic novel! Great job, Adam!

BBReview:"Ten Tiny Breaths 1: Ten Tiny Breaths" By K.A. Tucker

Genre: New Adult - Contemporary/Romance
Publishing Date: October 1st, 2013
Page Count: 262
Source: Sent to me by InkSlinger PR for Review
Format: E-Book

Description from Goodreads.com:
Kacey Cleary’s whole life imploded four years ago in a drunk-driving accident. Now she’s working hard to bury the pieces left behind—all but one. Her little sister, Livie. Kacey can swallow the constant disapproval from her born-again aunt Darla over her self-destructive lifestyle; she can stop herself from going kick-boxer crazy on Uncle Raymond when he loses the girls’ college funds at a blackjack table. She just needs to keep it together until Livie is no longer a minor, and then they can get the hell out of Grand Rapids, Michigan.

But when Uncle Raymond slides into bed next to Livie one night, Kacey decides it’s time to run. Armed with two bus tickets and dreams of living near the coast, Kacey and Livie start their new lives in a Miami apartment complex, complete with a grumpy landlord, a pervert upstairs, and a neighbor with a stage name perfectly matched to her chosen “profession.” But Kacey’s not worried. She can handle all of them. What she can’t handle is Trent Emerson in apartment 1D.

Kacey doesn't want to feel. She doesn't. It’s safer that way. For everyone. But sexy Trent finds a way into her numb heart, reigniting her ability to love again. She starts to believe that maybe she can leave the past where it belongs and start over. Maybe she’s not beyond repair.

But Kacey isn't the only one who’s broken. Seemingly perfect Trent has an unforgivable past of his own; one that, when discovered, will shatter Kacey’s newly constructed life and send her back into suffocating darkness.

Review:
Holy Cow! I absolutely loved this book! I had to finish it in one day that's how good it was. I just couldn't put it down and I had to figure out how it was going to end. This was definitely a very addictive read and I enjoyed every single second of it. There isn't a single thing that I would change about this book, that's how good it truly is. There is so much raw emotion that I felt like I was watching a movie instead of a reading a book, you really felt one with Kacey.

Lets start with the characters. Absolutely flawless. I really loved Kacey, our main character. She was very troubled, but for good reason and you never really wanted to scold her. You accepted Kacey and the way she acted, because you really got into her head. The only time I wanted to jump in the book and yell NO!! to Kacey is the scene with Ben at the gym. If you read this novel you will all know what scene I am talking about, but I am glad with how that scene ended up going. Livie was a great little sister. She was truly a guardian angel to everyone in the story and completely likeable. Storm was awesome and a very believable character. She wasn't always a certain way, you could see her different sides as a person. Finally we have to talk about Trent. Absolutely loved his character. I couldn't get enough of him and I really loved that K.A. Tucker really showed how he had many different sides to him (his bad boy then really sweet guy) by showing us and not just telling us how he is. Overall K.A. Tucker did a GREAT job with character development. I really seen these people as just that, people NOT characters.

Now for the plot and story line. Unbelievable. It was seriously flawless. I loved every second of everything that happened. This story is so believable and never cheesy or over done. It is true and emotion pulling. For the last couple chapters I was literally crying while reading. It takes a true artist and author to make me cry that hard for characters. K.A. Tucker you have me hooked by the heart strings for your writing. I was completely sold by this style of story telling. Again, there is nothing I would change about this novel. Completely perfect and unique.

I will admit that I did guess one of the key points of the ending before reading it, but I didn't guess just how much time the author was going to spend making the reader hope for a different outcome or root so hard for a happy ending. The ending was amazing! I love it! If someone would have come up to me and told me what happens in this novel from beginning to end I wouldn't have loved the ending. I would say that it was ridiculous, but after going through everything with Kacey I thought it was perfect and couldn't have ended better.

Overall:
IN LOVE! IN LOVE! IN LOVE! I can't say enough positive things about this book. I am completely sold by this book. K.A. Tucker has trapped me by the heart strings and I will definitely continue to read this series and her work. AMAZING! This book literally had me crying my eyes out by the end. I wouldn't change a single thing about this novel and I suggest everyone going out and getting a copy and reading it for themselves. LOVED IT!

BBReview: "Miss Peregrine 1: Miss Peregrines Home for Peculiar Children" By Ransom Riggs

Genre: Young Adult - Paranormal/Fantasy
Publishing Date: June 7th, 2011
Page Count: 352
Source: Personally bought from local bookstore
Format: Hardcover

Description from Goodreads.com:
A mysterious island. An abandoned orphanage. And a strange collection of very curious photographs. It all waits to be discovered in Miss Peregrine's Home for Peculiar Children, an unforgettable novel that mixes fiction and photography in a thrilling reading experience.

As our story opens, a horrific family tragedy sets sixteen-year-old Jacob journeying to a remote island off the coast of Wales, where he discovers the crumbling ruins of Miss Peregrine's Home for Peculiar Children. As Jacob explores its abandoned bedrooms and hallways, it becomes clear that the children who once lived here - one of whom was his own grandfather - were more than just peculiar. They may have been dangerous. They may have been quarantined on a desolate island for good reason.

And somehow - impossible though it seems - they may still be alive.

Review:
Miss Peregrines Home for Peculiar Children is a very interesting novel. I absolutely loved that it included pictures. When did pictures become things for only children's  books? This story would have been completely different without the pictures, because you wouldn't have believed it as much and you would have had to imagine everything. There was a cohesiveness to the story, because now every reader will have the same images in their head for whats going on. This is a great pick for a book-to-movie concept, because as long as the directors stick to the photos all the fans will be happy with casting.

Other than my love for the photos, I really enjoyed this novel. It was a very different story than I have ever read. One unique thing about it is that it has a male narrator. There aren't a lot of popular male narrators in YA and it was interesting to read one. I always like it when I get a different experience than normal when reading and having a different gender narrate was interesting. I also really liked the idea of a boy searching to find out if the stories that his grandfather told him while growing up were true. I almost wish, though, that Jacob would have ran away to the place where his grandfathers stories took place, because in reality what parent would really take their child there? It would have helped out a lot with the story, especially the ending. It would have made it much cleaner.

I will admit, though, that this was a very, very different novel from what I was expecting. I was expecting this to be more of a horror novel than it turned out to be. With a cover like that and a title like that, who can blame me? There are definitely some very creepy parts to this story, especially the creatures in the woods, and the photos are definitely something to stare at, but I will admit I was a little let down. I wanted to be terrified the whole way through the story or at least very creeped out. I didn't want to have a happy ending or even a sequel. I wanted this to be very creepy and finite. This wasn't the case and once I got to the part in the book where I started to figure that out I took a little reading hiatus from it and came back to it later with a clearer head. Once I came back to it I started liking it again, because my hopes weren't up so high, so I strongly suggest not reading this with any ideals in mind for how you think it is going to be.

Although the story ending up being completely different from what I thought it was going to be I really enjoyed it. It was definitely different and creepy and a very good read. I suggest this novel to those of you who love paranormal and good story. It's definitely a good book for those who are used to reading middle grade and is just starting to get into YA.

Overall:
I enjoyed Miss Peregrines Home for Peculiar Children. It was very unique and I absolutely loved the photos. The photos are what made this novel. I will admit that when I first heard about this novel I envisioned a completely different story and severely got my hopes up while reading. I had to take a break from the novel to clear my head before finishing it or I would have probably ended up not liking the novel since it isn't at all what I envisioned it to be. Once I cleared my head I enjoyed the ending and liked the story overall. I really think this is a great novel for those readers who read middle grade and are starting to transition over to young adult novels. Great transition book.

BBReview: "Eyes from Heaven" By Mary Hull

Genre: Young Adult - Paranormal/Fantasy
Publishing Date: September 19th, 2012
Page Count: 214
Source: Sent to me by the author for review
Format: Word Doc

Description from Goodreads.com:
When you walk through darkness, how will you find your way? Images from the drowning accident at the beach continue to haunt Lily, the new girl at Meadowcreek high school. She finds herself caught in a struggle between two handsome boys who have moved to Meadowcreek with one purpose. Now with their paths crossed, Lily's life will never be the same...because her destiny now lies in their hands.

Review:
My feelings on Eyes from Heaven are little back and forth. There are some elements of this book that I really liked and then some that I didn't like so I really had to give it three out of five stars. I really liked the overall concept of the novel, but I didn't really like that it was a story that was a mirror of another story inside of the story. I know that sounds really confusing so I will try to clear it up. In the book Eyes from Heaven Vincent tells the main character, Lily, a story about two angels named Ariel and Xaphan who both fall in love with a girl named Alexandra. In Eyes from Heaven there are two boys, Vincent and Marcus, who are after Lily's heart. Now, that that is cleared up what ends up happening in Eyes from Heaven is that the stories of Ariel, Xaphan, and Alexandra mirror the story of Marcus, Vincent, and Lily. I didn't like that. I like the overall story of Marcus, Vincent, and Lily, but I wish that it didn't mirror another group of characters stories. I wish that the past of Ariel and Xaphan never existed in this story at all, because it would have made the story much more real. By including the story about the angels from the past it makes the reader constantly try and figure out if Vincent IS Ariel or if they are two different people. It just makes for a muddy, confusing story and it could have been made simpler. If you take out the back story of the angels (Ariel and Xaphan) I really liked the story, but since the back story is in there, I had issues.

As for the characters it was mixed signals again. I like Vincent, but I don't like how other worldly he is. He fits in pretty well, but at the same time he is very much an outsider. I wish there would have been a much more smoother transition of Vincent's character to make him seem more Human. Lily was a pretty overall great main character, but I don't like how submissive and ignorant to the facts she is. She lets all the other characters around her push her around and make decisions for her instead of making them for herself. And when she starts noticing things about Vincent she just keeps sweeping them under the rug instead of trying to figure out the truth. I just wanted to reach in and snap my fingers in front of her face to make her wake up and see what was going on around her. There was one character that I truly hated and that was Lily's mom. I really wanted her mom to end up having a breakdown and snap out of her narcissistic ways. She drove me crazy throughout the entire book, because she never woke up and realized how she was treating her daughter.

I really feel that with the right editing and publishing team that Mary Hull could make Eyes from Heaven go from being an alright book to a great one. It really just needs some more re-working and it will be a hit.

Overall:
I feel that Eyes from Heaven was an alright novel. I had some issues with the story line being a mirror image to the fairy tale that is told to the main character. I also had some small issues with the characters that made me not fully connect with them. I think this book has great potential to be a very good read if it gets re-worked a little.

BBReview: "The Arkwell Academy 1: The Nightmare Affair" By Mindee Arnett

Genre: Young Adult - Paranormal/Fantasy
Publishing Date: March 5th, 2013
Page Count: 367
Source: NetGalley
Format: E-Book

Description from Goodreads.com:
Sixteen-year-old Dusty Everhart breaks into houses late at night, but not because she’s a criminal. No, she’s a Nightmare.

Literally.

Being the only Nightmare at Arkwell Academy, a boarding school for magickind, and living in the shadow of her mother’s infamy, is hard enough. But when Dusty sneaks into Eli Booker’s house, things get a whole lot more complicated. He’s hot, which means sitting on his chest and invading his dreams couldn’t get much more embarrassing. But it does. Eli is dreaming of a murder.

Then Eli’s dream comes true.

Now Dusty has to follow the clues—both within Eli’s dreams and out of them—to stop the killer before more people turn up dead. And before the killer learns what she’s up to and marks her as the next target.

Review:
I didn't really know what to expect from The Nightmare Affair. I knew it was going to be a mystery, but I didn't know how good it was really going to be. The worst thing that can happen to a mystery novel is when the reader can guess the ending and get it right. I kept guessing, but I didn't get close to being right. This novel has so many twists and turns it will definitely keep you reading. I have to give a small mention about the cover, because it is absolutely beautiful. I love when covers are artistic and mysterious. I don't like cover models so I love that it is a shadow person. Very well done and definitely a big part on why I requested this novel.

I really liked the idea of a Nightmare. I never thought about this type of gift and so it was a very interesting read. Definitely something very unique and an area that hasn't been explored. I also really liked that it took place at a special school for people who are paranormally gifted. It reminded me, a little, of Harry Potter. I really love the idea of a school being for special kids. It gives readers a whole different world and experience to explore.

As for the characters, I loved them. I loved Dusty. She was such a cool, misunderstood chick and I absolutely loved her named. You go Mindee for thinking up such a creative name. I love names that are totally out of the box. I also really, really loved Eli. I was rooting for him the entire time. My third favorite character was definitely Dusty's siren best friend. I loved her Siren's are too stereotypical attitude.

This was definitely a very different and unique book and I really loved the adventure. There really isn't another story that you could pinpoint and compare it to, because it definitely one of a kind. Really great story and I highly suggest readers to check it out.

Overall:
I really loved The Nightmare Affair. This is a very unique and new topic of Nightmares and I think it was very well done. I loved all of the characters and I especially loved Eli's character. The plot of the story was very good and I liked that there were so many twists and turns. I hate when you can solve mysteries before the end and I didn't figure out the bad guy until the characters did, so it was great and well planned. I absolutely loved the cover. It played a very key role on why I decided to request this novel. Overall very well done book and I highly suggest everyone check it out.

BBReview: "Reaper" By L.S. Murphy

Genre: Young Adult - Paranormal
Publishing Date: January 7th, 2013
Page Count: 212
Source: Sent to me by the publisher
Format: E-Book

Description from Goodreads.com:
There's no way sixteen year old Quincy Amarante will become the fifth frim reaper. None. Not over her shiny blue mustang. Her Jimmy Choos. Or her dead body.

She's supposed to enjoy her sophomore year, not learn about some freaky future Destiny says she has no choice but to fulfill.

It doesn't take long for Quincy to realize the only way out of the game is to play along especially since Death can find her anyway, anywhere, anytime. And does.

Like when she's reassuring her friends she wants nothing to do with former best friend Ben Moorland, who's returned from god-knows-where, and fails. Miserably.

Instead of maintaining her coveted popularity status, Quincy goes down like the Titanic.

Maybe... just maybe... that's okay.

It seems, perhaps, becoming a grim reaper isn't just about the dead but more about a much needed shift in Quincy's priorities--from who she thinks she wants to be to who she really is.

Review:
I really love the idea on Reapers. This is definitely a topic that I feel needs to be explored more in the Young Adult community, because I love the idea of people who help people cross over, and souls, and ghosts, and yadda yadda. With that being said I enjoyed Reaper. Quincy's character was a little tough for me to relate to in the very beginning, but once the story got going I started to really like her.

Not only was it genius to make the topic about Quincy being born a Reaper, but it was genius to add in the tension of an old best friend coming back and not being able to go back to how things are normal. Quincy is a popular girl now and she can't soil her reputation by talking to a bad boy so in the beginning she doesn't talk to her old best friend, but she constantly thinks about him and wonders what things were like where he was. It was a great plot thickener.

Ben is also a really great character and I fell in love with him instantly. I liked everything about Ben except that I wish he had a little more intel about the reaping because when Quincy has her episodes he has no idea whats going on and it makes him upset.

I will admit that the ending is a little cheesy. I took my first ever creative writing class this semester and if I would have written this kind of ending for my story my professor would have told me it was a cop out and to re-write it. On one hand I like it, because I like cheesy things, but on the other it was a little too neat of an ending. You sometimes want to leave some of the ends loose and I feel like this ending is a little too tidy.

Overall:
I really liked Reaper. I think it was a well written story and flowed really well together. In the beginning I didn't relate to Quincy, but as the story went on I really started to like her. I absolutely loved Ben's character and just wish that he would have been a little more in the loop with what was going on in Quincy's life. Although I really liked the story as a whole I do have to say that the ending was a little too tidy for me and ending up being cheesy. I think it really needed to be re-looked at and maybe re-worked to make it a little bit messy so it seemed more believable and less cheesy.
