Interview/GIVEAWAY: "Ties to the Blood Moon" By Robin Waldrop

Hello everyone, today i have an awesome interview and giveaway with Robin Waldrop, author of Ties to the Blood Moon. To read my review on Ties to the blood moon click here.

.::INTERVIEW::.

Where did you get the inspiration to write about werewolves and vampires?
A dream actually. It was one of those weird dreams you just can’t forget about. Genevieve and William were in the dream, and I just created a world around them. It was actually fun. My two oldest daughters allowed me to bounce ideas off them and they helped to shape the story.

Was Ties to the Blood Moon always the original title? And how did you come up with it?
Yes. While writing the book I just couldn’t come up with a title I really liked until one day I was on my way to work and it just hit me. So, that evening when I got home I googled the name and could not find that title in use anywhere. I knew right then that was my title.

Did you have to do a lot of research on the topic before hand?
I do some research before starting a book, but most of it is done during the writing process. I’m one of those writers who jots down a general plot, then as the book progresses things always change. So why do a lot of research I might not even use?

If you could be any mythical/paranormal creature what would you be?
Definitely a witch or a vampire. I love them both. My first choice is a witch—like a Bewitch witch. And the reason I said vampire is I love the dark side a bit as well. Who wouldn’t want to stay young forever? I know I would … or I think I would anyway.

What is your favorite thing about being an author?
The imaginary worlds I get to dream up, and the characters I get to mold into anything I want them to be. A lot of my characters start out as people I know. I then take them and transform them into these wonderful (or terrible) characters.

What is your usual routine while writing? (do you have a favorite spot, snack, drink, music, etc.,)
I have a fairly large family so I can write anywhere, and almost at any time. I like to make a fresh pot of coffee, get a Ziploc bag of Fruit Loops, and lock myself in my bedroom where its quiet. I also take my computer wither me to work and I write on the way there, at lunch break, and on the way home everyday. Of course, my husband does the driving.

What has always been your favorite genre to read?
It used to be suspense/thrillers until I discovered young adult. Now its any YA paranormal or fantasy.

Do you know what you will title the second book? And do you know when it will be released?
I have NO idea what I will name book 2 in this series. I’m still hoping it will just come to me like the first one did. My cover designer, Claudia McKinney has already finished creating the cover. She’s just waiting for me to give her the title so she can finish it. I’m about halfway through writing this one. Originally, it was supposed to be released in March. However, Murphy’s law always applies to me. Now I’m hoping for a release date in July. We’ll see.
